VALTELLINA: the 5 senses
TASTING
Let’s start the morning with a tasting of typical mountain honeys: Rhododendron, linden, acacia, eucalyptus…to better understand what you are tasting, Moltoni’s family will explain us the processes thanks to a visit inside the different laboratories and they will be happy to answer to your questions and curiosity.
At lunch time, let’s go to a small but refined winery where you can walk throughout the vineyards, thanks to the explanation of the expert owner Gianluigi Rumo who will also guide us in his cellar, in which you can taste 6 different wine and a typical buffet.
NATURAL RESERVATION PIAN DI GEMBRO
For people who are bored caused by the stress and the pollution of city life, I suggest a walking tour in a natural reservation far from chaos and artificial noises to lose in a wonderful environment surrounded by mountains, lakes and birds songs. After the long promenade we’ll end the tour in a typical restaurant to taste local food and to regain the forces!
BERNINA EXPRESS
From Tirano to St. Maurice on the famous red train which goes up from Valtellina throughout Bernina Pass. 2 hours 30 minutes in which your eyes will only see pure beauty in a succession of different landscapes. The last stop is St. Maurice nicknamed “Top of the world”: the walking tour in the center is a tour through luxurious stores of the most famous brands, but there is also the leaning tower, the protestant church and…the best chocolate! For the enthusiasts of the height there’s the possibility to catch the funicular to really reach the top of the world!
ST. PRIMO MOUNT: walking tour and typical lunch
We’ll start the morning with the guided tour in one of the most beautiful Romanesque churches of the area, then we’ll look around at the antique market in front of a wonderful sanctuary and finally we’ll gather together to start a nice walk throughout the nature to reach a typical mountain refuge-restaurant where we’ll taste good local food and wine with an incredible panoramic view. The landscape is wonderful both in summer for the colors of flowers and the horses that graze and in winter for the white immaculate blanket of snow. (30 minutes, rise)
